This page is for you, the student, first. If a word here doesn't make sense, ask a parent or teacher, or write to us at the address at the bottom.
Your account holds your name, grade, school and city, the projects you start, any file, photo or link you add as evidence, and any note or reflection you write.
Your notes and reflections are yours. Nobody at Career Companion reads them. There's no staff review and no keyword scan, and nothing you write is flagged and sent to a person. Nobody else on here can see any of it either.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use it to show you ads.
Every account here needs a parent or guardian to confirm it before it fully opens. We email the address you give us at sign-up with a link they use to agree, or say no.
Until they answer, you can look around, but you can't save, upload or write anything. If 14 days pass with no answer, we delete the account: nothing is kept waiting forever with nobody to confirm it. You can always start again with a parent who will answer.
A linked parent sees your projects and their status, how many pieces of evidence you've added, the opportunities you've saved or applied to, your deadlines and your roadmap.
A linked parent doesn't see your notes or your reflections. That writing stays between you and the page, the same as if no parent were linked at all.
A parent can stop seeing your progress at any time, from their own page. That only unlinks them; nothing of yours is deleted, and nothing changes for you until they say otherwise. A parent declining consent before it's ever given is different: that removes the account, the same as if nobody had confirmed within 14 days.
Opening an episode's page doesn't reach the show's own host. That happens once you press Play. A separate kind of tracking, described below, can start earlier on some shows.
Pressing Play reaches the show's own host, the same as any podcast app. On the way there, it usually passes through the companies that measure podcast listening for advertisers: Spotify's own measurement tools show up most, and Podtrac, Podscribe and a few smaller ones depending on the show. Each of them can see your device and roughly where you are, the country and city your connection is in, the same way any website can when your browser asks it for something.
We checked what these companies do. On one show, a company leaves a cookie, a small file saved in your browser, that lasts about two months and is built to follow your browser to other, unrelated sites too. On another show, a different company leaves a smaller cookie that clears itself once you fully close your browser. Both cookies are set the moment the episode's page opens, before you ever press Play. The show's own host is still not contacted until you press it.
We checked 762 real requests made while using Career Companion, podcasts included, for your name, your email or anything tied to your account. None of the 762 carried it. These companies see a device playing an episode, not your name or account.
Go to Your account inside the app and choose “Delete my account.” You can also write to hello@careercompanion.me and ask us to do it for you. A real person reads that inbox.
Deleting it removes your profile, every project, every file you've uploaded, every note and every reflection. All of it, in one go. There's no undo.
Write to hello@careercompanion.me. Your notes stay private, which also means nobody here will see a problem you only write down in one. If something feels wrong, tell a person.
Tele-MANAS is India's government mental health helpline. Call 14416, free, any time of day. You don't need a crisis to call it.
Last checked 4 September 2026. Questions about any of this go to hello@careercompanion.me.
